CHANGE IN VENUE! The Impact of the 2018 US Tax Reforms on Global Investments
Thursday 28 June 2018, 15:30 - 16:45
About this Seminar

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) was signed into law on December 22, 2017 and many of its provisions have become effective on January 1, 2018. It represents the most significant US tax reform since 1986, impacting individuals as well as businesses not only within the US, but across the world. Unfortunately, and consistent with much of US politics in the recent past, little time was scheduled for comments and discussions. The questions "What should I do now?" and "What does it mean for me?" are now more urgent than ever.
This presentation will explore the impact of the TCJA on both businesses as well as individuals who are engaged in cross-border investments. We will focus on how the new US tax landscape is affecting the key investment vehicles used by UHNW families, considering inbound (e.g., investments to the US) and outbound (e.g., investments from the US) flows, and providing a comparative analysis between treaty and non-treaty jurisdictions
