The mid-autumn festival or more famously known as the Mooncake festival, was celebrated on 4 October in most oriental countries. Whilst STEP Singapore chose to celebrate one day after the actual festival, it did not dampen the festive mood.
Members and guests enjoyed the networking sessions over delicious mooncakes, exotic tea and thereafter a sumptuous dinner with wine and cocktails.
The professional tea making demonstration was interesting and gave all who attended a glimpse of how intricate Chinese tea-making can be.
More importantly, members were introduced to Mr. Glenn Ang, a private investor and SME mentor, who sponsored the event. Mr. Ang is an experienced businessman, who now passionately spends most of his time providing guidance and mentoring start-up businesses. Mr. Ang also introduced four of his SME mentees, who each runs very interesting businesses:

- Mr. Kandan Jayaraj of TransforMesh Pte Ltd - Smart Padlock Business
- Mr. Daniel Chui of Oceanic Group Pte Ltd – Themed Cruise Ship
- Mr. Ivan Lim of Averspace – Real Estate Portal
Plenty of business cards and contacts were exchanged, which we hope had provided opportunities to all who attended to develop businesses together. The event came to a close after the closing hours were extended for another hour.
